Who We Are
Simparlia is a research project developed by researchers at the University of Oxford. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our website at simparlia.com.
Data We Collect
We collect personal data that you voluntarily provide to us:
Email address — submitted via the waitlist signup form.
Company name and role — optionally submitted via the professional waitlist form.
We also collect anonymous usage data — page views, button clicks, and page performance metrics — to understand how visitors use the site. This data uses session storage (not cookies), contains no personally identifiable information, and is not linked to your email or waitlist submission. You can opt out via the cookie settings page.
We do not process payment information. We do not collect sensitive personal data.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to manage the waitlist, communicate product updates, and notify you when access becomes available. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted in the European Union. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Data is processed by our infrastructure providers (Supabase for data storage, Vercel for hosting and anonymous performance metrics) under their respective data processing agreements. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. You may request deletion at any time.
Your Rights
Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
Erasure — request deletion of your personal data.
Restriction — request that we limit processing of your data.
Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
